JTB TrimWindow

Copy a rectangular window of selected objects out from your drawing, and trim everything outside the window's edges.

Very useful tool to quickly extract details from a master plan drawing.
Run TrimWindow command from the ribbon or command line, and you will be asked to pick 2 corners of a rectangle selection. Let's call it the TrimWindow.
Then, all supported drawings objects within the TrimWindow will be trimmed and copied to another location.
Notes
+ To trim 3D polylines, copied objects are flatten to the XY plane. Original objects are unchanged.
+ Supported object types are: 2D line, curve, 3D poly, dimension, leader. Text and hatch are copied only, not trimmed.

JTB TrimWindow can be downloaded here, or in Autodesk App Store.

Operating system: same as the CAD software is running on.

Compatible with AutoCAD versions (2013 and up to AutoCAD 2026). Works with all flavors/verticals based on AutoCAD like AutoCAD Architecture (ACA), AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical , AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD MEP (AMEP, ABS), AutoCAD P&ID, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Advance Steel.

BricsCAD Pro or Platinum 15 and newer is supported. BricsCAD Lite is not supported.

The license is perpetual. If you have more than one computer and you are the only user of the application one license is enough.

The network license manager is available at no extra cost and normally most useful for companies with quite many licenses. 

Run TrimWindow_Settings to bring up the settings window where you can select how TrimWindow generates the output:
+ Option to put all TrimWindow's object to an anonymous block
+ Option to run move command to move TrimWindow to a new location, or copy it to clipboard so that you can use PasteClip command to insert it later elsewhere
+ There is also a custom option requested by an AutoCAD Architecture client. This option creates a reactor that runs command ShowModelSpaceViews after any Regen command.
Then, you can run TrimWindow command by clicking to the ribbon, or type its name to the command line, and follow the on-screen instructions. (See About section above).

• JTBW_Activate_Apps - Run this command to activate the app.

Supported object types are: 2D line, curve, 3D poly, dimension, leader. Text and hatch are copied only, not trimmed.
