Run the SORTTABLE command or start it from Add-ins or Plug-ins ribbon tab in AutoCAD or the JTB Sort Table ribbon tab or toolbar in BricsCAD, then select columns to sort them.

You can select the table (or in AutoCAD alternatively a selection of columns, rows or cells) first then run SORTTABLE command, or run SORTTABLE command first, then select the table.

Sort Table dialog will show up. On the top section, you can adjust your cells by selecting new rows and columns. On the bottom section, you can select priority of sorting columns by clicking on one of the cells in the Select Column, and sorting options in Sort Direction column where Ascending, Descending, or None can be set.

Lastly, click OK then your data will be sorted.

On the animation below, "A" column contains merge cells. "B" column contains blocks. "D" and "E" and "F" columns have background color equal to row's index. Try it and you can see:

+ If cell contains block, SORTTABLE will use the first attribute of the block (if existing) to sort by.

+ After sorting, merge cells are retained merged. This is because SORTTABLE will keep them merged as long as their rows are not separated.

Note: Trial version is available for 30 days.

Often BricsCAD does not allow the application to change text height, background color of cell that has default setting. Therefore the application work best on table where all cells are in default settings, or all cells have properties overridden.
